Things to See in Hawaii

Hawaii is an ideal vacation destination. The abundant and diverse natural scenery makes it a very popular destination. From beaches to waterfalls and green pathways and lush forests make it a very interesting place to visit. The live volcanoes are another major attraction. Be it a honeymoon trip or an adventure trip, you can fit it all.

1. Oahu

On day 1 you can take a tour in Oahu that include Biking, hiking, sailing and snorkeling. The entire tour comes as a package and costs about $152 per person. The tour lasts for about 8.5 hours.

Oahu is one of the most developed Hawaiian island. You can hike through the Koolau jungles and enjoy the regent waterfalls there. Then downhill you can enjoy a 5 mile bike ride through the tropical forests. Finally the most awaited sailing trip. You can come across giant turtles, exotic ocean fishes and dolphins. This seems to be an ideal package to see everything and enjoy.

My brother and I went scuba diving for the first time last week with Erik and Chris. First off, they are amazing!!! Erik was a wonderful instructor and just an amazing person. Chris was constantly checking in with me to make sure I was ok (as I was having slight difficulties with buoyancy in the beginning). They are the dynamic duo. I think on any day, Erik may be with a different instructor, but the fact that you'll always get Erik no matter what, is probably the best thing that could ever happen to you.

Travel 101: Oahu, Hawaii To Do

For a hearty meal, after riding the surfs, head to  Jimbo's a quintessential neighborhood restaurant. Try their delicious house-made noodles and broths, the Jimbo's homemade udon  with shrimp tempura, chicken, eggs, vegetables and seaweed is the best in the house.

Japanese Udon Noodles (Source: crd!)

Gotta be one of my favorite spots for udon.  Im a noodle fanatic actually, i really cant get enough of high quality hand made noodles.  oooooodles of nooooodlleeeee !!!  I really wish I could sample the menu more extensively, so if you're down let me know we can partake together.  This time I had the curry tonkastu udon.  DELISH!!  The mix of the savory curry broth with the tonkatsu, the best of both worlds if you ask me.  I wish I had the forethought to order a side of rice to mix with my leftover broth!  Great service parking can be a bit tight, but this spot is definitely worth it so check it out

2. Big island

On day 2 you can visit the Big Island. You can take the blue Hawaiian helicopter tour. You can take the 2 hour tour. It costs about $ 212 per person.

You can later hit the Kona beach and take any of the tours like scuba diving lessons or the humpbacked whale tour.

Recently returned from Kona. SOOOO missing it already. Saw the Donkey balls place (LMAO) but didn't stop. We did some coffeee plantations in the area. Kona Joes was killer. What a fantastic view from the coffee bar. Prices were a bit high. $8 for a peaberry french press. Greenwell estate was rustic but a fun tour. I bought a few bags of their estate beans, YUM! The coffeee shops in Hawi were more my speed. Laid back and cool.

The Big Island Grill is a typical, local Hawaiian restaurant that serves huge portions of pork chops and an assortment of fresh fish specialties at very reasonable prices. The place is always packed, and locales flock here to grab a bite of their salmon and delicious mashed potatoes

One of the best-kept secrets among local residents is the Big Island Grill, where you get huge servings of home cooking at 1970s prices. The place is always packed, from the first cup of coffee at breakfast to the last bite of dessert at night. Chef Bruce Gould has been cooking in Kona for decades and has a loyal following for his localized American cuisine. This is a place to take the family for dinner (excellent fresh salmon, generous salads, and the world's tastiest mashed potatoes) without having to go into debt. Warning: You'll likely have to wait (no reservations), and once you finally land a table, service can sometimes be slow. Relax, it's Hawaii.

3. Lanai
0

On day 3 you can take off to Lanai. This is one of the best places to enjoy a Hawaiian vacation. There are many operated tours here. Trilogy ocean sports has many activities to offer like sailing, snorkeling, intro and certified scuba diving, SNUBA, whale watches, marine mammal searches, adventure rafting, kayaking, and sunset sails. I'm sure this will be a very interesting tour.

Lanai is full of activities and there are many more things like the four wheel drive and boating. You can try these too.

Perfect diving. Small boat (only 6 people) so not crowded. Dive master Jill was super knowledgable about the dive sites and the wildlife we saw. Everything was effortless as Jill and Capt Ricky had the gear totally set up. Transit to the dive site was just minutes away. First Cathedrals was amazing. Totally unique site as you swim into a...

LANAI HAWAII SNORKEL AND SURF

A Lanai  institution of sorts, the Blue Ginger Cafe  is a family friendly café serving authentic local cuisine.

They make their own hamburger from fresh ground beef and also the buns . Make sure you try their Sauteed Mahimahi (Two filets of mahimahi, sauteed with capers, mushrooms and onions, served with rice and green salad or homemade macaroni salad.)

(Source: jasonlam)

Famous for its mahmahi sandwiches and inexpensive omelets, Blue Ginger is a very local, very casual, and very reasonably priced alternative to Lanai's fancy hotel restaurants. The four tables on the front porch face the cool Norfolk pines of Dole Park and are always filled with locals who talk story from morning to night. The offerings are solid, no-nonsense, everyday fare: fried saimin (no MSG), very popular burgers on homemade buns, and mahimahi with capers and mushrooms. Blue Ginger also serves a tasty French toast made with homemade bread and a surprisingly good stir-fried vegetable dish.

4. Maui

Day 4 should be ideal for a quiet walk through Maui. Maui is a very beautiful place and unlike the beach tours you can opt for farm visits and also feel the local culture. One such farm visit I would suggest is the lavender farms. You can walk through the farms with a guide and enjoy the pristine beauty of the lavender farms. There are other options too, like a visit to the pineapple farms or the coffee plantations.

Evening you can try out the Hawaiian music concert. Just a different type of an activity apart from adventure , you can listen and enjoy nice Hawaiian music.

White-out fog, lashing rain, ice storms, intense high-altitude sunshine followed by hypothermia-inducing drops in temperature -- if all this weather mayhem sounds like your kind of outdoor adventure, check out what advice our sister blog,

Maui, Hawaii - Tour of Maui

With the days actvity taken care of head for an eclectic food experience to this casual, oceanfront eatery representing Hawaii's ethnic mix, the Aloha Mixed Plate . This place offers everything from  Chinese noodels, to Korean ribs to Japenese Odahu to a mouth watering  spread of Hawaiin delicacies. A local mecca for fusion cuisine, make sure you drop by the Mixed Plate

 (Source: jeffreyw)

From the wonderful folks who bring you Maui's best luau—the Old Lahaina Luau—comes this extremely casual, oceanfront eatery, which is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If you've yet to indulge in a local-style "plate lunch," this is a good place to try it. A consistent award winner in local magazine and newspaper polls, each plate combines foods representative of Hawaii's ethnic mix. Take a plate of your Chinese chow mein noodles, marinated and grilled Korean kalbi ribs, Japanese teriyaki beef, and, of course, the requisite macaroni salad and two scoops of rice to a table so close to the ocean you just might get wet. Want to go whole hog? Try the Alii Plate of traditional Hawaiian foods: laulau (taro-leaf-wrapped bundles of meats and fish), lomilomi salmon (a cold salad of raw salmon, tomatoes, onions), poi, rice, and haupia (luscious coconut pudding). Oh, and don't forget the mai tai!
