We have tried to come up with just the right itinerary as per you requirements and in this process, we have made some assumptions. You can go through the itinerary and get back to us if you need any changes.
ASSUMPTIONS
1. You would want to leave Bangkok on 9th and reach Siem Reap
2. Since you asked for the cheapest option of travel from Bangkok to Siem Reap, we have planned your trip keeping that in mind. But, we have given you all the options of travel.
3. The 24 hrs that you need to be in Bangkok, we would suggest you do it in the last two days instead of the first day.
OVERVIEW OF THE ITINERARY
- 9th Dec 2009 : Travel from Bangkok to Siem Reap*
- 10th Dec 2009 : Angkor Wat, Cultural Village, Cookery School and Angkor Night Market
- 11th Dec 2009 : Angkor Thom( Bayon, Ta Prohm) and the Apsara Theatre
- 12th Dec 2009 : Bantreay serai, Kbal Spean or Tonle Sap Lake cruise or Hike in the silk farm
- 13th Dec 2009: Siem Reap to Bangkok
- 14th Dec 2009 : Bangkok : Floating Market, Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Bangkok unusual and the local bazar and street food.
* If you reach Siem Reap by early evening, then you can do the Apsara theatre or the Angkor night market that same night.
TRAVEL OPTIONS FROM BANGKOK TO SIEM REAP
- BY AIR : You can take some cheap flights offered by Air Asia, Thai Airways and Bangkok Airways on 9th and 13th. The choices are as follows

You can then take a bus to Siem Reap. The buses leave at regular intervals at different times of the day.
- OVERLAND: Take a train from Bangkok's main Hualamphong
station to Aranyaprathet, which is a few kilometres from the
Cambodian frontier.Two reliable trains run daily.To
reach Siem Reap or Battambang the same day, take the 05:55 from
Bangkok arriving in Aranyaprathet at 11:35.There's also a
13:05 train from Bangkok which arrives in Aranyaprathet at 17:35,
but this is too late to move on from the frontier and you will
have to spend the night at Poiphet.
- At Aranyaprathet, take a tuk-tuk (about
40-60 baht) or motorcycle (about 50 baht) or wait for the bus (about 10 baht), from
the station to the Cambodian border at Poiphet (15km).
The border is open 07:00-20:00.
- Take a
share taxi from Poiphet to Siem Reap. The journey usually
takes around 3-3.5 hours, and it costs about
$30/1000 baht for the whole car or $9/300 baht for the front
seat, depending on your bargaining powers. There are also buses, some quite basic, from Poiphet
to Siem Reap, fare around $3, journey time around 6 hours.

24 HRS IN BANGKOK- Floating Market : It is recommended that you do this early morning to avoid the crowd.
- Grand Palace : A ticket for the Grand Palace gives free entry to Dusit Palace, including the Vimanmek Mansion and Ananda Samakhom Throne Hall.There is a strict dress code to be followed.Visitors must be properly dressed before being allowed entry to the
