Australia is a beautiful island nation and has many beautiful places to see and visit. I have found a couple of great options for you to consider, keeping your interests in mind. Hope you like my recommendations.

1. Brisbane

Brisbane the capital city of Queensland is one of the most exciting places to be in Australia. It is famous for its vibrant nightlife, scenic beauty, historical sites, shopping malls, beach etc. The best part of Brisbane is that you can explore the city by foot or by renting a bike, scooter, bicycle or just take a bus and move around.

The most popular attractions you can check out are Brisbane City Hall and King George Square which is one of the historical landmarks in the city, Museum of Brisbane - exhibits of local artists and history of the city, City Botanic Gardens, Queensland Cultural Centre, South Bank which has an artificial beach surrounded by extensive parkland on Brisbane River that flows from the center of the city etc.

Other popular attractions include Alma Park Zoo, Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary where you can see around 130 Koalas, cuddle them, feed them as well as the kangaroos etc, Manly Boat Harbour from where you can visit Moreton Bay Marine Park, Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium, Mt Coot-tha which is one of the tallest mountains in Brisbane, New Farm Park famous for its jacaranda trees, Roma Street Parklands, Wheel of Brisbane a giant Ferris Wheel something similar to the London Eye etc.

There are quite a lot of things you can do while you are in Brisbane like you can go biking, river adventures, shop at the farmers market, watch some theater, go for a musical performance, go for adventure trips and climbs etc. This is one destination where you will love spending some great time with your friends and family.

2. Sydney

Sydney is also called as the 'Harbor City'  and it is one of the most cosmopolitan, largest and the oldest cities of Australia. There are many things to see and do while you are in Sydney. The most popular among all the attractions are the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

The popular attractions in Sydney apart from the Opera House and Harbor Bridge are Darling Harbor is one of the largest tourist precinct that has an array of restaurants, museums, shopping and other entertainment activities, Sydney Olympic Park, Luna Park - the largest theme park in Sydney, Sydney Tower, St Mary's Cathedral, Royal Botanic Gardens etc.

Other popular attractions include The Rocks - one of the preserved sites from Sydney's early settlements, Parramatta which is one of the oldest colonial buildings, Macquarie Street, Art Gallery of NSW, Powerhouse Museum, Museum of Contemporary Art, Museum of Sydney etc.

For the wildlife enthusiast in you, there are number of wildlife sanctuaries and zoo to visit eg: Taronga Zoo, The Koala Park Sanctuary, Sydney Aquarium, Sydney Wildlife World, Featherdale Wildlife Park, Australian Reptile Park, Symbio Park etc.

You can also go for Whale Watching or go for ocean sports like yachting, swimming, paragliding, cruises etc.
