I am currently in Paro & enjoying the lovely trip that you have helped me plan :). I have heard from the locals that Bumthang is a very nice place to go.
I will be in Thimpu till 28th Feb. and will go to Punakha for a day. So I do have a couple of days time to do Bumthang.

Paro is about 4 hour's drive from Bumthang (a little over 300 kms). Considering the manageable distance and the fact that you have two days in your hand, I would say it is a viable option. I am planning to leave Bhutan on 28th Feb & reach Gangtok via Jaigoan on the same day. I have about 4-5 days time and I have decided to spend all the time in Sikkim. Please help me find farm houses to stay, in my budget, in Paro, Thimpu, Punakha & Phobjikha valley. Also I would like to know if there are Indian Banks/ATMs in Paro or Thimpu. Is there an Indian Embassy or are there any helpline numbers to contact in case of emergency? Do let me know if there is anything else that I need to take care of on my trip.

Hi there! As I read from your previous questions and answers, this is going to be a honeymoon trip, and all I can say is, absolutely brilliant idea!! You guys are going to love it. Staying in Thimpu Thimpu has been the capital of Bhutan since 1961. We are taking the Phuntsholing route to enter Bhutan from India. We shall reach Paro by 18th Feb afternoon. We are planning to spend about 7 to 9 days in Bhutan.
