Getting around in Hawaii
A tourist spot, Hawaii is the only state in US made up entirely of islands. Filled with a variety of flora and fauna, the breathtaking natural beauty of Hawaii has a dazzling effect on first time travelers. Each of the six islands, that make up the beautiful city of Hawaii, are beautiful in their own way and each have their own sights that will leave you spell bound and wishing you had more time on your itinerary to cover it all. It won't be easy choosing which island to visit on your first trip but one thing is certain; whichever you chose, you can simply let your hair down and enjoy to the hilt with your friends and family.

Though car rentals can be expensive, driving is the best and most efficient way to get around Hawaii.
Rental car prices start at around $35 a day from national and local agencies. There is usually a minimum hire period and an extra drop off charge of several hundred dollars.

Here is a review that may aid you in reaching your decision:
It is highly recommended to spend the extra money for a convertible rental car. To fully experience The Big Island, it is great having the top down to hear the birds, smell the flowers and feel the warm sun. Sure, it costs more, but is well worth the extra money.
