Greetings. Here, I have put together a list of some great accommodation options that are within your budget and are known for their hospitality and services. However, do note that this is peak time and availability is an issue. While the suggestions given here have vacancy as of now, it is imperative to do the bookings at the earliest.
As for how much time these places deserve, well, considering that you will have about a week in hand and Calicut is your end point, I would recommend at least two days in Munnar to truly appreciate the place. Also, about the same for Alappuzha.

Munnar Rock is located in 2nd Mile Pallivasal, just a little off Munnar. Nestled along the tea-garden slopes, the views are stunning and the services exemplary .

the facilities are good. Hot water is available always and the room service was also good. we had a pleasant stay at the hotel. We were group of seven members and we prepared our food on our own so dont know about food & drink. Other facilities are good....

As for Kozhikode, here are two of the best bets:
The Calicut Towers Hotel is a great budget hotel that is well located and would be a great choice. Less than a kilometer away from the beach, this hotel is popular with both families and those on business.

One of the better hotels in Calicut. Good location. Decent rooms. Good shopping nearby. Excellent service. Their restaurants serve good food - Malabari, south Indian and north indian, at reasonable prices. Service in quick and efficient and the staff are very friendly, courteous and willing to bend backwards to help you.

Hyson Heritage is a comfortable hotel located at the centre of Kozhikode city. The rooms are quite comfortable and the service is excellent. Transportation, Wi Fi and a quite good restaurant makes it the best place to stay in Kozhikode for the business traveler.
