A bit of advice : Before you decide on the places you would want to go, I would suggest you keep these things in mind to simplify your planning.

  • July is peak tourist season in Turkey. The weather is hot, the sky is blue, the sea is warm, and everything is crowded.
  • Its summers in Turkey till August with July being the warmest month. July is the best month to visit eastern turkey and you might consider southeast too.
  • All the places and cruises are totally booked and if they aren't, the prices are obscene. It is recommended that you book at the earliest.
  • You can see the sound and light shows in Istanbul, be a part of the International Jazz Festival and Islamic Minor Festival as all of these fall in July.
TURKEY
Anthony met Cleopatra at Side on Turkey's Mediterranean coast for a romantic interlude. Then he gave the Egyptian queen her own private Turquoise Coast beach covered with sand shipped in from Egypt so she wouldn't feel homesick.

That was then, this is now: great beaches and resorts, private yacht cruises, excellent restaurants, lively cafe life, world-class museums (many in castles and palaces), and of course top-class hotels everywhere

Istanbul : The primary attractions of Istanbul include the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Topkapi Palace, Grand Bazar, Bosphorus, The Süleymaniye Mosque, Hippodrome. If you are a history buff then Istanbul has a lot to offer. You can pick some historical sites here. You can use this map for further details.

Pammukale : Pamukkale is one of the natural wonders of the world. It is a unique geological formation formed over 14.000 years. The theater, Temple of Apollo, Colonnaded Street, Byzantine Gate, Plutonium and Necropolis (Cemetery) are some of the highlights of the city.

Cappadocia : One of the geological wonders of the world. Cappadocia is a high plateau in Central Turkey at an altitude of 3270 ft / 1000 m. It lies in a triangle formed by the three main towns of Kayseri, Nevsehir and Nigde. Read more here.

Ephesus : Ephesus is one of the best-preserved ancient cities in the world with a history dating back the 12 C BC. One of the seven wonders of the world, Temple of Artemis was in Ephesus. It is also the site of one of the Seven Churches of Revelation. St. Paul lived and preached for about 2 years in Ephesus.

Fethiye and Oludeniz : The most famous beach in Turkey has to be Olu Deniz (Dead Sea) near Fethiye, a serene lagoon beach with turquoise waters that graces the cover of so many holiday brochures. Have fun while you do paragliding here. Read more here.

Some tips before you visit Greece :
  • July is a busy month in Greece but bookings will still not be much of a hassle but it is still recommended that you book well in advance.

GREECE : A honeymoon in Greece and the Greek Islands is a very personal matter, closely related to one’s perception of the perfect trip and one’s aesthetics. See the fairytale houses, walk hand in hand on the old bridges amidst greens and reds. There are numerous islands that offer you an experience of a lifetime.

As Lonely Planet puts it : Greece offers a myriad of experiences, landscapes and activities. It is the pulsing nightclubs of Mykonos and the ancient beauty of Delos; the grandeur of Delphi and the earthiness of Ioannina; the rugged hillsides of Crete and the lush wildflowers of spring. It is the blinding light of the Mykonos sun, the melancholy throb of Thessaloniki's rembetika (blues songs), the tang of home-made tzatziki, the gossip in the kafeneia (coffee shops). It is the Parthenon - solitary and pristine - lording it over the hazy sprawl of Athens.

Athens : The largest and capital city of Greece is well known for The Acropolis, Ancient Agora, Plaka and Anafiotika and Theatre of Dionysos

Mykonos : Mykonos is a Greek island and a top tourist destination, renowned for its cosmopolitan character and its intense nightlife. The island is part of the Cyclades, lying between Tinos, Syros, Paros and Naxos. It spans an area of 105.183 km2 (41 sq mi) and rises at an elevation of 341 m (1,119 ft) at its highest point.

Thessaloniki : Greece's second major economic, industrial, commercial and political centre, and a major transportation hub for the rest of southeastern Europe; its commercial port is also of great importance for Greece and its southeast European hinterland. The city hosts an annual International Trade Fair, the Thessaloniki International Film Festival, and the largest bi-annual meeting of the Greek diaspora.

Olympia : With countless overpriced souvenir shops and eateries, the modern village of Olympia (o-lim-bee-ah) panders unashamedly to the hundreds of thousands of tourists who continually pour through here on their way to Ancient Olympia. Despite this, the town is far from kitsch. Beyond the well-kept leafy streets are several even leafier walks, including that along the Kladeos River.

Zagorohoria : A land of fairytales, slate-roofed houses and looming, brooding mountains – not forgetting the magnificent Vikos Gorge. The villages are tucked into the folds of the Pindos range and are filled with inexhaustible local legends and with marvellous houses. These remote villages were once connected by paths and old stone bridges. Today, you'll see the bridges arching over riverbeds and valleys, though paved roads now connect the villages.

Sarakiniko : The water-shaped and windswept luminous white rocks of Sarakiniko.  The barren, lunar-like landscape of this north coast beach of Milos is one of the most popular tourist attractions of the island.

Hydra : Car-less Hydra boasts a stone captains' mansion nestled on a pretty yacht harbour. Hydra (ee-dhr-ah) is the showcase of the Saronics and still wears its celebrity with style. The island's picturesque harbour attracts throngs of tourists.

Nafplio : The secret is out about Nafplio, one of Greece's prettiest and most romantic towns. It occupies a knockout location – on a small port beneath the towering bulk of the Palamidi fortress – and is graced with attractive narrow streets, elegant Venetian houses, neoclassical mansions with flower-bedecked balconies, and interesting museums.

This page provides a list of different combinations of islands. You can see if you wish to follow one of these itineraries and we can plan accordingly.

Hope the above information was helpful. You can take your time to decide on the places you would want to go and then we can work out the exact itinerary. In my opinion, 10 days is too less o do both Greece and Turkey. You should do one place to have a relaxing and complete experience. If you still wish to do both the places, we can surely work it out based on the places that you pick up.

Best wishes for the coming days and your wedding.

Sneha.
