Here's what someone who brought his kids to the Creepy Crawlies Adventure Playpark had to say in its praise:

I brought my children here for the first time ever and I will definatly be back!!! Everyday if I could. The children had such an amazing time. I could go on all of the equipment and actually play with my children. It was clean, fresh and bright!! The staff, well they were beyond what I could have expected. They must be treated well because they all had smiles on their faces, and could not do enough to help us even though it was really busy. I don't think I have ever had a pizza so good either. Better than the ones I had in Italy last year, the kids had chicken bites made out fresh chicken breast. Yum Yum Yum. Well worth the money. Thank You Creepy Crawlies.

The York Castle Museum is housed in prison buildings and has various interesting displays ranging from displays of everyday life to life in the prison, as well as a Barn Gallery, a Children's Gallery and military and costume displays.

A way to spend a thoroughly enjoyable day with kids! Here's what I read online about the York Castle Museum:

This was our second visit to York Castle Museum, this time with kidlets weaving between our legs, and it made for a very enjoyable day out!

The museum catalogs (or "catalogues" in England) the history of the city in a series of scenes that are populated with artifacts from each era. Visitors follow a well-laid-out path around the museum, stopping to peer into shop windows from the early 1900s, reproduced kitchens from the 1980s, living rooms from the 1700s, and so on. This makes for an intriguing and educating journey through time.

Down in the dungeon, a new exhibit chronicles the characters who stayed in York Gaol, some of which is quite ghoulish. It's a very different style to the rest of the museum, and the change is quite jarring; I'm not sure it works so well, but it's ambitious and is interesting all the same.

The little cafe in the museum served the needs of our whole group of 14, which was a minor miracle.

Highly recommended for all ages!

With kids these days all so precocious and 'into' (to use their own terms!) everything weird and eerie, the York Dungeon will be a place you will enjoy as a family - what with such scary stuff that you almost hug each other out of fear and excitement!

Here's a review I read online:

I went reluctantly to the York Dungeons with my four children and we had to queue down the street before we went in as it was very busy. I was a bit worried as various actors kept coming out and did look very scary, playing their part to us, and I thought my youngest child may get too scared.
The actors inside are very good and I myself was scared of being tapped on the shoulder or picked on by the Judge.

But in the end we all found it a bit of a laugh although some of the torture chamber stories were a bit gory.

I would definitely recommend it for a bit of a laugh, even for small children!!!

I hope you will have a fantastic holiday with your kids and enjoy everything that York has to offer! If you'd like to know about the best kid-friendly hotels to put up in while in York or the most comfortable restaurant that serves special kids stuff, do get back and we'd be glad to assist you.

Till then,

Happy Planning!

Rohini.
