Yes, it's an uber touristy thing to do, but who cares? It's effective! I found the 24-hour ticket to be both affordable and convenient, not to mention very informational. Depending on which bus you get, you will either get a live tour conductor and a microphone or headphones to plug into an audio system with tours in numerous languages. There's both covered seats and uncovered seats, so getting too cold in the open air isn't really an issue. For £52, we were able to ride any Original London bus on any of the several routes (there were separate routes that overlapped a bit highlighting different facets of the city - from museums to landmarks to shopping). The tour was the first stop we made when we got to London and we resumed the next morning, making stops at the Tower of London and Buckingham Palace along the way. I would highly recommend this your company. It is slightly less expensive than all the others and just as convenient. A win/win!

I visited this restaurant in Oct 2011 with my girlfriend to celebrate my birthday. I had no expectations but was blown away by the service and the quality of the meal. Yes, it was a tad on the expensive side, but the ambiance made this one of my top 5 dining experiences. The maître d'hôtel was very accommodating and even took us for a private tour of the kitchen and the wine cellar. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anybody looking for a fine dining experience to remember.

'Paris City Tour & Lunch at the Eiffel Tower & Versailles'. We had only the weekend in Paris so we picked this day trip so we can see more of Paris. It was a very good choice. We were picked up from our hotel on time. The guides for both morning and afternoon tour were very knowledgeable and nice. Lunch in Eiffel Tower was good and queueing was not as bad as I thought it would be. No queue in Versailles also and we had a lovely 2 1/4 hours there. We recommend this company.

'Pricey but well worth it'. The Filet De Boeuf from Salurs washed down with a Marquis De Mons Margaux followed by a Cafe Gourmand was a great way to end our day in Paris. Not the cheapest place to eat but the staff were friendly and helpfull, the garden setting, when the weather is good enough to sit outside, is stunning and romantic. Well worth a visit.

'Can't wait to go back!' Another great find thanks to TA! Last year our apartment was literally across the street from this restaurant and we tried to go towards the end of our visit but were not able to b/c we didn't have reservations. Vowed not to make that mistake this year, made reservations before we left home. The food was excellent as was the service. They serve a complimentary pâte with the bread while waiting for your starters. We shared foie gras to start and then we had the aligot (potatoes w/cheese) that are awesome. Aligot was served with duck breast which was good. For dessert, chocolate mousse!!! It was amazing and they serve it to you and bring you a surplus bowl so you can serve yourself more (who would have room for more?). My meal was 40€. Great price for the quality. Definitely recommend.

'Excellent food'. My overall experience was absolutely amazing. The food was delicious, the service was friendly and the atmosphere was very intimate. I would highly recommend making the trip to visit. On my visit I tried their risotto and creme brullee. The risotto was cooked perfectly and was result the best i've ever had. The same goes for the creme brullee.

If you love eating out, then this is the place for you. With a range of options to choose from, it's really hard to select just a few. The list goes like this...

Our first stop in Rome to get a taste of the fine Italian cuisine is the restaurant  Ditirambo. The varied menu has got Roman speciality like cacio e pepe and other mouth watering delicacies from other Italian regions.

Here's a review:

'Very good Italian cuisine in the center'. We went to Ditirambo yesterday evening and we enjoyed the food, service and the atmosphere very much. The food was really good, wine too and we had a delicious dessert. If you want to eat outside, which is really nice, its better to make a reservation as they have only few tables. Then, the menu is also available in English; people working there speak good English too. Fully recommended.

Another nice place to eat out in Rome is the La Tavernaccia. The warmth and chaos of this family run restaurant is infectious and the food is just great. You must visit this place to have a nice time.

Here's a review:

This restaurant is a little out of the way, but do not let the location put you off. It is a real family restaurant, run by Mama and backed up by family and staff. The handwritten Italian-only menu was translated comprehensively for us and the food was excellent, as was the very reasonably priced, excellent wine. The food was also a little different from the standard pizza/pasta fare we got elsewhere in Rome, and I can highly recommend the meat dishes - in particular the bifsteak, which was totally out of this world delicious. The dessert, oh... The dessert :-) I will be back!

First Dinner in Italy! (Source: Randy OHC)

Here's a review:

'You absolutely MUST go...SPECTACULAR dinner'. We arrived at Spirito Divino at about 730 PM for our reservation, early for dinner by Italian standards. We were greeted by the son of the owner and seated promptly. The owner came out and proceeded to tell us the history of the building, and allowed us to tour the wine cellar at our leisure. The wine celler is OLDER than the Colosseum! The owner then walked us through every item on the menu, with his wife in the kitchen ready to make each item from scratch. From the incredible chicken liver pate to the pasta courses, the spectacular pork (a recipe the was passed down from the chef of Julius Ceasar) and wild boar...spectacular. The son, a wine expert, helped select a spectacular wine, the best Piedmont Barolo I have ever tasted and was kind enought to bring a glass of Muscato to accompany the pate as well. The dessert was equally sublime, the creme brule exceeding expectations. They even had a small gift for us upon our exit. Everyone who visitied that night got the same treatment, as if eating with family. This is an absolute must when in Rome, by far our dining experience in a city that offers really fine dining. Perfetto!

Cheers!!!
