Hiya...am glad to see you back here asking more questions
I am going to give you a list of hotels which should meet your requirements along with reviews. Most of the hotels are located along the riverfront or on Orchard Road, the centre of Singapore's shopping centre. You will most likely need to take the MRT or a taxi for reaching Singapore's main attractions.
-
Orchard Parade Hotel - RECOMMENDED. Works out to US$369 for a family studio which are large and comfortable, with a king-size bed and lounge seating area, dining area, and spacious bathroom, plus two extra single beds behind a partition. Read the Frommers review for more.
-
Copthorne Kings Hotel - RECOMMENDED. They have a whole lot of promotions going on so do check it out here. Tripadvisor has also given it decent reviews. Their suite under their Leisure for Longer scheme works upto US$572 for a 7 night stay.
-
Concorde - At US$381for a suite, the former Le Meridien is strategically located on the world famous Orchard Road. Check out room promotions here for more.
-
Regent - At US$395 for a suite, it is a 10 minute walk to get to the centre of things. Check out this Lonely Planet review of the Regent and make up your mind about the hotel.
I am also suggesting 2 options on Sentosa:
-
Capella Singapore - Designed by Norman Foster, it doesn't come cheap at $360 per night. Through May, there is an introductory offer of two nights, with a third night free.
-
Sentosa Resort and Spa - From US$379 a suite, this hotel offers it all. You can read reviews on Tripadvisor here.
With regard to the fully serviced apartments, I would say that they do provide a cheaper alternative to paying for two hotel rooms/suites as the case maybe. I am giving you a list of 4-6 serviced apartments with reviews which should help you make up your mind.
-
Le Grove Serviced Apartments - RECOMMENDED -Complimentary continental breakfast (on business days), a spa, children's pool and playground, for a three bedroom suite, it works out to about US$700 a day. And you can even get the penthouse for another US$100 more. You would make savings on the breakfast for sure and plus they offer the complimentary shuttle from and to the city. Check out reviews on Tripadvisor for more.
-
Treetops Executive Residences - RECOMMENDED. Check out Treetops 10th anniversary rates. Given the location and how cheap it would work out for both your families, this is something I would definitely recommend. For a Two-Bedroom Premier, it works to about US$360. Read reviews on Tripadvisor.
-
Far East Plaza - Orchard MRT Station nearby. Comes at US$410 a day and requires a minimum stay of one week atleast.
-
Orchard Parksuites - Located on Orchard Road, Singapore's premier shopping & entertainment area, a three-bedroom suite comes to about US$500 a day. You can check here for facilities offered by them.
-
Riverside Village Residence - On the bank of the Singapore River, Riverside is approx US$388 per day for a 3 bedroom suite. They provide a free shuttle service to Raffles Place, DBS Building, Temasek Tower, Suntec City and City Hall every weekday morning which you can make use of to access attractions.
Here is an offbeat look at Singapore the Frommers way. Tour Singapore with a local and check out the remnants of a bygone colonial history. Experience high tea at at the Raffles Hotel for the view and the dumplings (of course!) amongst more fun things. So have a read and enjoy Singapore in a different way....
