Babylon is a multi-purpose performance center in Istanbul. It is righly said that "Babylon Turns Istanbul On". Babylon features are a large variety of music, including jazz, world music, electronic etc. It was opened in 1999 and is very famous amongst the tourists as well as locals. Since 1999, the venue has hosted over 1500 concerts. Babylon was named one of the best 100 jazz clubs by a leading magazine.

This club was the first among what is now a crowded category of venues for music concerts attended by hip and cosmopolitan Turks in black. Frequent live concerts feature every type of modern genre and then some: from urban folk, to world, to punk, to classic rock, to R&B, to 10 types of jazz. Previous acts saw jazz performers Charlie Hunter, Leon Parker, and Harriet Tubman, but more often than not, the musicians are lesser-known imports playing an eclectic (even weird) fusion of music. Tickets are 15TL for SRO up to 70TL for a table; DJ nights are free.

Short of being on (Suada) or next to (Reina) the water, the views from Blackk are hard to beat. Inside it's all damask walls, sultry lighting, and well, black everything. The clientele hovers a notch above upscale -- expect to see international fashion designers and high-profile politicians. The venue has a restaurant (expect around 100TL per person for dinner) and a club, and there's live music on occasional nights.
