The Takeshita Dori is a pedestrian only avenue lined-up with fashionable boutiques, stores, cafes and bistros. Some of its popular stores include the McDonald's, 7-Eleven, The Body Shop etc. The Harajuku Daiso is one of the popular outlets of this street, as here you can avail watches, jewelery, cosmetics etc. at best deals. It's open daily from 10 a.m. till 9 p.m. This 400 meter long street is followed by the Omotesando in south, which is fondly known as the Champs-Elysees of Tokyo.  You would surely enjoy this walking tour.

Flashy clothes and stores ! There is a lot to see. For Johnny's entertainment's fans it's a paradise. There is a lot of store that allow you to buy Johnny's or Japanese, korean idols goodies. Must of them arent official though. You can buy a lot of papapics there. There is also a store that allow you to buy a lot of old official Johnny's entertainment goodies ! Go on Sundays to see all the cosplayers out in force. Really crowded and touristy, but something you have to see at least once while in Japan. Good shopping along nearby Omotesando.

Here is a visitor review:

Odaiba is Tokyo in the future. The buildings all look like a science fiction movie; and they also have the Toyota showroom, the Fuji Television building, and Aqua City. Odaiba is a prefect getaway from Tokyo and a breath of fresh air. the monorail that takes u there is like a roller coaster with some amazing view of tokyo. The National museum of emerging science and innovation and the Tokyo Big Sight buildings are so beautiful you'd be mesmerized just staring at it all day long.

5. Sunday in Harajaku
0

As you mentioned that you would love to street roam and check out local music, food, shopping etc., then for you the right place to go in Tokyo is Harajaku, that comes alive every Sunday! A must see if you are in Tokyo  on a Sunday. Street performers, counter culture fashion, loud rock bands, local musicians and artists performing, you can find everything here. You can buy food from the road side stalls and have a picnic here. Do visit the Yoyogi Park nearby. This place defines the emo-fashion craze of the youthful Japan.

Here is a visitor review:

Harajuku is the area around Harajuku station, located between Shinjuku and Shibuya . Harajuku is known for its fashion and shopping. Take a walk down either of the main shopping streets, Omotesando and Takeshita-d14Dri, and you will find unique stores as well as major chains. Harajuku is also where you can see "Harajuku Girls," teenagers who dress in elaborate outfits that often resemble costumes from a movie or comic book.

6. Sensoji Temple
0

Sensoji Temple is one of the oldest temples and most  popular pilgrim destination  in Tokyo. This Buddhist temple with it's imposing structure, massive traditional lanterns painted in red and black , "Thunder gate" (the entrance) and the 5 storey pagoda will definitely amaze you. Nakamise is a shopping street close to the temple from where you can find Japanese souvenirs.

Here is a visitor review:

I was lucky enough to visit while the cherry blossoms were blooming, it was so beautiful. I visited several times at different times of day (since my hotel was nearby), it's nicest in the early evening, when the buildings are lit up and there aren't too many other people around; but do also visit during the day when the main building is open - it has great paintings on the ceiling. The streets surrounding the temple are full of tourist shops and food stalls, the main shopping area is between the metro station and the temple's south gate, but the better shops are through one of the other gates (west I think, but I have a terrible sense of direction) - look for the one where the shop keeper works on his wood-block printing right in front of you (and sells the prints for just 500yen!).

She was so kind to help me activate my newly bought SIM card. And they have free Wi-Fi! Perfect! The location was a little bit far away from city center, but close to Subway station, Ueno Park and Senso-ji Temple, and the street was quiet, clean and safe.
