Plymouth City Centre is a bustling shopping area. The area is currently undergoing a redevelopment phase that has been termed as Plymouth's '21st Century Renaissance'. The city centre's new outdoor event area hosts a Bavarian-style craft market and a large ferris wheel that is popularly known as the Plymouth Eye.

The Plymouth city centre is extensive with numerous departmental stores, smaller stores and specialist shops gracing the shopping area.

Here's a review -

This isn't a specific shop, but rather the main shopping area of Plymouth. Here you will find a small selection of your typical High Street stores, including Debenhams & Dingles, Marks & Spencers, River Island, Topshop, HMV & Virgin, Boots, numerous sports shops, all major banks and building societies, a selection of travel agents, charity shops, cafes etc. All of this is to be found in a large pedestrianised area, with multi-storey car parks around the edges and it is within easy walking distance of Plymouth train station and Bretonside bus station.

One of Plymouth's most sought after shopping centres is the Drake Circus Shopping Centre. The shopping centre presents a funky look while maintaining a sophisticated ambience as well. Its unique design relegates the claustrophobic feel that you may find in many other shopping malls. The shopping centre comprises of a variety of stores and brands such as H&M, Exeter and many more.

Here's a review -

It's got a very wide range of shops, more so than the rest of Plymouth or many other shopping malls. I was very impressed with the amount of variation.

The Plymouth Sun Dial is a major meeting place and shopping area for the city folk. The area is known to have numerous rides and recreational activities organised for children of shoppers on holidays as well.

Close to the Sun Dial is the Piazza, which plays host  to various events and it even boasts of a giant TV screen on which people can watch news bulletins and sporting events. The Piazza's seating arrangement with its beautifully arranged Spanish trees is an aesthetic model for many other shopping areas as people can easily find resting places here.
