Weather

Its always good to know what the weather gods are up to before heading off for a holiday .So here is a short weather report.

 (Source: Graham Racher)

The weather in Kas is typical of the gloriously sunny Mediterranean weather enjoyed throughout the Turkish Riviera. Our Kas weather statistics show why this relaxing holiday resort is so popular with UK visitors to Turkey. Cheap beach holidays are available during an exceptionally long season that runs from April to November. The vast majority of Kas holidays will enjoy long hours of uninterrupted Mediterranean holiday sunshine. Kas sea temperatures make for idyllic snorkelling and diving holidays

Things to Do

Kas is one of the destinations which make up the Turquoise Riviera. I will give you a list of things to do and see which I'm sure you'll enjoy. As you want to know about places to snorkel and kayak first I will start with the activities offered and then go on to the other major attractions.

So lets get started!

1. Sea Kayaking (Recommended)

Sea Kayaking offers a great opportunity to see the beautiful waters of the Gulf of Kekova, past the sarcophagi and the sunken ruins. As swimming over these archeological sites is prohibited this is a unique and fun way of seeing the sunken cities. Not only do you get adventure but the added flavor of history.

The day trip which costs $52 is low-exertion in either single or tandem kayaks, and sets off after transferring from Kalkan and Kas from the docks at Üçagiz.

Sea Kayaking over the Sunken City
Now an island, Kekova was once joined to the mainland but it suffered a series of earthquakes and these geological influences rendered it a city six metres below the sea.
The area is off-limits to swimmers and divers so kayaking is the closest you can get to the underwater foundations, walls and mosaics dating back 2000 years.
