Tours of Niagara fallls
The Niagara Falls are surely one of a kind! The most powerful waterfalls in North America, the Niagara Falls form the international border between the United States (state of New York) and Canada (the province of Ontario).

While sightseeing tours for the Niagara Falls start from both countries (US and Canada), and observation towers/ decks are located in both countries too, you need the appropriate visas etc. to travel to the falls. The illumination of the falls can be viewed better from the Canadian side (because the lights are fixed on the Canadian side of the gorge, right behind the water of the Horseshoe Falls).
Keeping in mind all the criteria you want fulfilled on your trip (a ride aboard the Maid of the Mist, illumination works, tower view and being close to the falls), I'm going to suggest 3 tours for you. Let's check them out -
You'll view the falls from the American side, on the first tour. The 2nd tour is from the Canadian side, while the 3rd offers views of the falls and its many attractions from both sides of the border.
The Niagara Falls Royal Canadian Illumination Tour by Van provides a spectacular view from the Canadian side of the Falls, along with the night time Illumination of the Falls. This tour includes a thrilling ride aboard the Maid of the Mist (along with rain gear), panoramic views of the falls atop the Konica Minolta Tower as well as a visit or view of the Horseshoe Falls, American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls etc.

Here's a review for the falls from the Canadian side (including a journey behind the falls) -
If you go to the falls,do yourself a favour and book a day tour to view from the Canadian side. You will need your passport to enter Canada but much better than the American side. The tour includes the MAID OF THE MIST boat. A walk behind the falls (a let down) and various other stops you wouldnt know about as a first time tourist. The power and the roar is something you need to experience as i cant do it justice in words.Enjoy it, we did!
